What is the processing time for renewal of Indian Passport?

Normal processing time prescribed by High Commission of India for renewal of all kinds of passports is around 6 to 8 weeks.

However, reissue of a passport in lieu of a lost or a stolen passport might take longer.

What is the Fee for renewal of Indian Passport of Child under the age of 15?

Application Fee for reissue of an Indian Passport of a child under 15 years is NZD $76.

What is the Fee for issue of an Indian Passport in lieu of lost or stolen passport?

Indian High Commission's fee for reissue of Indian Passport in lieu of a lost, stolen or damaged passport is NZD $221.

Can you pay passport application fee by cash?

Application Fees for all passport services to be paid to Indian High Commission can be paid by Banker's Cheque only if you are filing your application through courier.

If you are personally delivering your application at the High Commission of India's office then you can pay the fee by Cash.

But note that you can not pay the fee by EFTPOS or by Credit Card even if you are personally delivering your application at the High Commission of India's office. High Commission of India Wellington currently don't have any EFTPOS or Credit Card payment facility. You can only pay fee by Cash at their office. Check with Visa Factory or High Commission if they have commenced this service.

Is there any Tatkal Passport Service in New Zealand?

The High Commission of India, Wellington in New Zealand currently don't have any Tatkal Service for reissue of passports. Contact Visa Factory if you need to travel to India urgently.

Do I need to register Birth of my child born overseas with High Commission of India?

YES, if you are overseas and on a temporary visa then your child born overseas is considered as an Indian by DESCENT. You must register his birth with the High Commission of India, without his birth registration you can not apply for his Indian passport.

Do we need to send Indian E-Visa application to High Commission of India?

NO, Indian E-Visa is 100% online services and has no connection whatsoever with Indian High Commission. You apply for Indian E-Visa on Government of India's visa portal and pay the application fee by credit card and receives the visa by email within 72 hours.

How long does it take to get Indian E-Visa?

Indian E-Visa is usually granted within 24 hours after the application is submitted. However, you can not apply for Indian E-Visa for a date prior to 72 hours from the current date.

Should I apply for Indian Tourist Visa or Indian Entry Visa?

If you are a foreigner of Indian origin or are spouse, child or grandchild of an Indian origin person, then you should apply for Indian Entry Visa, as it comes with fewer restrictions.

If you are a Foreigner who is neither of Indian origin nor your spouse, parents or grandparents were of Indian origin, then you should apply for Indian Tourist Visa.

Is Indian E-Visa Multiple Entry?

YES, Indian E-Visa is a double entry visa for 60 days and it can not be extended or converted into any visa. You must leave India after 60 days.
