How to get particulars in a passport corrected?

If your passport contains any details/particulars that are printed wrong or have changed, the simplest way and the only method recommended by Indian High Commission is to apply for reissue of your passport and furnish correct or changed information in the application forms with evidence of corrected/changed details.

No extra fee is payable to get your particulars in your passport corrected. There is no need to use a separate miscellaneous service form if an amendment seeking request is combined with the main request of reissue of a passport. Applicant, however, has to clearly mention at appropriate place that he/she is seeking an amendment in one or more personal particulars. It is relevant to mention that normally no amendments are permissible unless trustworthy documentary evidence is provided in support of the claimed change in status. Additionally, High Commission may, in certain cases (such as a change in name) also like to know the purpose for seeking a change. For certain personal particulars special documents are needed to show that mandatory procedure has been followed. • Complete online application form at Government of India Portal;
• Upload your recent passport size colour photograph on passport portal;
• Download the online application form and print it out;
• Fill up the printed application form's all blank columns in capital letters;
• Paste your recent passport size colour photograph on the application form;
• Sign the form at the specified places;
• Download Personal Particulars Form (PP Form) from https://www.hciwellington.gov.in/docs/PPForm.pdf;
• Download Annexure - E form from https://www.hciwellington.gov.in/docs/Annexure-E.pdf;
• Fill up & sign PP Form & Annexure-E Form
• Paste your another photo on PP Form;
• Give the reasons for changing particulars and evidence for the new/changed particulars;
• Get 2 Courier Signature Required with tracking facility envelopes;
• On one courier envelope write your complete postal address, in this envelope your passports will be returned;
• Attach all the prescribed documents, your current passport and 2 extra photographs with the application;
• Prepare a Banker's Cheque for the passport renewal fee of NZD $112;
• Courier all documents to High Commission of India Wellington;
• If you have done every thing right, you should receive your new & old passports within 8 weeks;
• Interview with Passport Officer at High Commission of India might be required;

• Duly completed & signed PP Form with photograph cross signed (in duplicate);
• Completed & Signed Annexure-E;
• Copy of current New Zealand Visa;
• Give Particulars of changes, reasons for change and evidence of new particulars;
• Interview with Passport Officer might be required;
• Self addressed pre-paid signature required with tracking facility courier envelope for return of your passport;
