   Hi, my New Zealand visa is expiring in June 2019 and I need to apply for 3 years NZ visa, but my Indian passport is expiring in March 2020, because of which INZ will not give me 3 years visa. Can I apply for renewal of my passport now and how much time it will take as I have to apply for my NZ work visa next month. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

   Hi Joseph, Thank you for your query. You can apply for renewal of your Indian Passport immediately. Just keep safe the acknowledgement of the application sent to you by the Indian High Commission. You can attach the acknowledgement with your application for your New Zealand visa to INZ if you don't receive your new passport by then. INZ shall process your application without any problem as they will then know that its renewal is under process with Indian High Commission. Once you receive your new Indian passport you can send its details/copy to INZ.    Hi, my passport is going to expire in September 2019. Please let me know the fee for renewal of passport full process. How much time the processing would take. My NZ visa is till December 2020 if I get new passport, would I need to apply for new NZ visa for my new passport? Thanks

   Hi Jasdev, Thank you for your query. At present Adult Indian passport renewal fee is NZD $112. If you will get it through us then our fee is additional starting from $150. The entire process, documents required, processing time, etc are provided in the above article with step-by-step guide for renewal of Indian passport also. After you get your new Indian passport you need to transfer your valid NZ visa into your new passport before you can use it to travel. This applies regardless of whether you have a physical NZ visa label or an e-Visa.    Hello, My Indian passport had expired in February 2018. As I was not aware of the expiry date and therefore forgot to renew it. How can I renew it now. are their any additional fees or additional requirements?

   Hi Nelima, Thank you for your query for reissue of your Indian passport that had expired for more than 1 year. Yes you need to furnish additional documents now to renew your Indian passport. Some of the additional documents includes a certificate of denial of citizenship from New Zealand Citizenship office and a Police report (PCC) (Your Criminal History report) from New Zealand Police.    Hi, My son is 9 years old. What is the fee for renewal of Indian child passport? As I live in Wellington, can I pay the fee for renewal of my son's passport by EFTPOS or Credit Card at High Commission of India Wellington's office? TIA.

    Hi Jagjit, As per HCI website , currently High Commission of India do not have any facility to accept payments by EFTPOS or Credit Card at their office in Wellington. As such if you want to visit their office personally you can either pay the fee by cash or by a Banker's Cheque in favour of High Commission of India Wellington, but not by credit card or Eftpos. All applications sent by courier for High Commission of India's passport services must be paid by an NZ Bank Banker's cheque only. Hope this would be of some help.Thanks.

    Hello, I live in Hastings, How can I apply for TATKAL reissue of my Indian Passport as I need to travel urgently and my passport has expired. I can't find any information on High Commission of India Wellington website. I will be very thankful to you for helping me out. TIA

    Hi Nimesh, Please note that Indian High Commission in India do not provide any TATKAL Passport renewal services in New Zealand. As such everyone has to apply in standard way. You can know about Tatkal & urgent renewal of Indian passport in New Zealand on our webpage HERE.
