New Zealand Police Clearance Certificate

New Zealand Police Clearance Certificate

New Zealand Police Clearance Certificate (NZ PCC)

Sometimes when you apply for a visa to stay in another country you might be asked for a police clearance certificate (NZ PCC). This can also be called a police record, police file, police check, penal check or criminal check or commonly known as a Police Clearance Certificate.

The equivalent of a PCC is in New Zealand is “Record or Certificate of  Your Criminal Conviction History". As such PCC for New Zealand is same as your criminal record (or criminal conviction history). There is no such document as a police clearance certificate in New Zealand, the above mentioned “Record or Certificate of  Your Criminal Conviction History" is the PCC for New Zealand.

New Zealand Police or New Zealand Department of Justice do not issue any thing called PCC or Police Clearance Certificate, instead they issue a Certificate or Record of Criminal Conviction History of a person and this certificate is considered as a Police Clearance Certificate by all Immigration, Visa and Passport authorities of New Zealand, Australia, India, Sri Lanka, Canada, US, UK, Europe, etc. You need to fill up a prescribed application form for requesting your “Criminal Conviction History" and email it to New Zealand Justice Department along with necessary documents as provided in the application form.

THIS IS ONLY FOR THE PERIOD YOU LIVED IN NEW ZEALAND:

Please note that the New Zealand Criminal Conviction History (NZ PCC) is required to be submitted only if your application authority is requiring you to submit your New Zealand PCC, i.e clearance from New Zealand Police for your past & current stay in New Zealand. This certificate is not valid if you require an Indian PCC in New Zealand, that is Indian PCC for the duration of your living in India. You can get Indian PCC from High Commission of India in Wellington if you are in New Zealand.

INDIAN PCC in New Zealand

If you are currently living in New Zealand but need an Indian PCC for any visa application then you should apply for Indian PCC from High Commission of India, Wellington.
